The village of Geddington is mentioned in the Domesday Book. In the twelfth century the building of a Royal Hunting Lodge put the settlement on the map, as it was from here the Royal Court hunted Rockingham Forest for the next 160 years. This much admired village has evolved over the centuries, retaining much of its historical character and natural beauty. Queen Eleanor's Cross, in the centre of the village, was erected by her husband Edward I, in her memory. There are three public houses, a post office, general store and numerous clubs and associations. Located on the A43 between Kettering, 3.5 miles to the south and Corby, 5.5 miles to the north. The market town of Thrapston is 11 miles to the east and Market Harborough is 13.5 miles to the west. There is main line travel to London St Pancras from Kettering, taking approximately 50 mins.
